Happy Sunday! I’m currently snuggled up on the couch watching the final season of Schitts Creek. If you haven’t seen it yet, you’re missing out. This show has me laughing out loud and even crying happy tears at times. While I’m just hanging out on the couch, I thought I’d grab my computer and pop on to say hello! I also remembered mentioning that I’d start hopping on more with little style blogs. While we were out getting some fresh air this morning, I had Kyle snag a few photos of me! Plus, I usually wear makeup MAYBE once a week, and if I have it on, I’m definitely documenting it. I did a makeup clean out a few weeks ago and have been trying out new products. I’ll have to share some of the ones I love and don’t love if you’re interested.
And if some of you are wondering what’s different…Well, I straightened my hair for the first time in a year! The funny thing about Fall in the south is that it’s super chilly in the morning (around 45 degrees) and then gets up to 75 degrees by noon. It’s the perfect time of year for pants and a sweater. This is the weather I wish we could have most of the time. I felt so BLAH this morning, so I made myself get ready, poured myself a to-go cup of coffee, and headed out to our nature trails with Kyle. We wanted to have coffee by the river while it was still chilly out. It’s funny how doing something so simple as getting out of the house and sitting by the water can change your entire mood. In mid-July, this area is filled with Shasta daisies. I’ll make sure to take advantage of those next year!
One thing I’ve loved this Fall are jumpsuits with cardigans. I can’t believe I’m saying this. Last year, I was so ANTI-JUMPSUIT. This year, I’m going all in. One of my favorite places to buy them is Abercrombie (but only online because the stores smell like a men’s locker room, and I never find anything I’m looking for in there). When I shop online, I always find something or too much of something. This jumpsuit was purchased this summer, but they have many similar ones on the site.
I paired it with an oversized cardigan and black boots! I would typically pair this outfit with lighter boots, but I was feeling the black suede ones! They are more comfortable than my sneakers. Something I’ve been thinking about doing lately (I bet so many can relate) is getting rid of all the bright things in my closet and making everything cohesive and more neutral colored. I don’t look good in bright colors, but I’m also worried it’s just the time of year where I’m craving more subtle tones. I don’t know. Have any of you made a big closet update by color? I feel like getting ready would be less stressful if everything was cohesive. Don’t worry! I’m getting those nails done tomorrow. 😉I picked the gel off last night while watching a movie with Kyle. Once I do one, they all go with it. These to-go cups are from Homegoods! I usually rinse and reuse until they get worn down. I love being able to take my coffee with me out on my walk. I saw that they had little pumpkins on them, and I couldn’t resist. After I finish up tomorrow’s recap post, I will be filming another clean with me! I love how many people DM me about filming them. Anything to motivate me clean 😉
I know this was a quick post, but again, I love popping on just to say hello. I hope you’re having a great weekend. If you need a pick-me-up or something to make you laugh, turn on Schitts Creek! I promise you’ll love it.

Yes, SO many times haha
I have! I actually followed Cotton Stem’s capsule wardrobe process to make my fall/winter wardrobe cohesive. It really does make getting ready so much easier! I struggle with summer though since I don’t layer!
Family!
Taralynn McNitt says
That is such a great idea and I’ll make sure to look CSC!!
I pretty much live in my gym shorts in the summer lol
Laurie says
Schitts Creek is my favorite!!! Enjoy!
I’ve been trying to become more of a minimalist this year so I’m attempting to reduce my clothing options and create more of a capsule wardrobe. The Millenial Minimalists have several great Podcast episodes about how to do this. I found them to be very helpful.
Taralynn McNitt says
I’ll have to check them out.
I think i could benefit from that since I absolutely hate laundry and minimal sounds like the best resolution to that!
Camie says
You look like the girl from Twilight
Taralynn McNitt says

Happy Monday Taralynn! 🙂
i have to admit I was like you, I couldn’t convince myself to wear a jumpsuit for a long time, but then I found one and I feel super comfortable wearing it! So maybe the thing is to find the perfect match. Yours is also super nice! I also love your make up and hair and the boots! (
This year for the first time I actually started to think about more cohesive wardrobe… Having neutral colors is much easier to combine, but let’s see if I am actually able to get rid from bright tones. I like them in summer, but in Autumn or Fall I am more for subtle tones.
My weekend was very calm because I was sick so I stayed home, but now I feel way better 🙂
Have a nice week! <3
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you, Milena! You’re always so sweet! ♥️
Glad you had a relaxing weekend.

Maureen says
Hi Taralynn!
1. Yes! We fell behind last year and are currently watching season 6. It’s one of our favorites!
2. Also yes! It was a few years back when I wanted to simplify, which has been great overall. Mixing & matching is easy since a lot of my clothes go well together now. I’ve since added back a few pieces in what I consider my signature colors (maroon, blush pink- so basically neutrals) and some blouses & dresses that I call “featured florals” to mix things up. =)
3. Fresh 🍁
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, Maureen!
It’s such a great show! Love hearing that your closet transformation has helped!!
Shelby says
I think you look great in colours too, so I wouldn’t get rid of ALL the colors but simplifying does sound like a great idea! Have a great week Taralynn ♡
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you, Shelby !

Weekend in one word: work
I would love to see more about the cohesive wardrobe makeover. I am TRYING to thin out my closet because I’m about to move cross country. I don’t want to move a bunch of things that I haven’t worn in the three years that we’ve lived here but I’m terrible about getting rid of clothes and shoes.
Taralynn McNitt says
I’m like that too, Allison! I have things I’ve never worn but still can’t give them up!
