Hi, everyone!
It feels good to be back blogging again. I took a much-needed hiatus the past two weeks to give myself a mindful refresh. Sometimes, you just need some time off to read a good book, watch a few films, and spend time with family. I have missed you all, and I can’t wait to get back in the routine of things. And if you haven’t noticed yet, the blog also had a little refresh of its own! I hope you’re enjoying the new website so far, and new features will be added throughout the next few weeks. I can’t wait to share some projects I’ve been working on like the office makeover (so close to finishing), my latest travel guide, and Fall decor. We had some rosé and treats over the weekend to cheers on the new website! Any excuse to have rosé, am I right? Plus, I found the cutest rosé strawberries that I had to add to the celebration!
I don’t know what has gotten into me lately, but I’ve become a rosé person. Now that it’s summer, all I’m craving is fresh fruit, and fruit just happens to pair well with rosé. I found limited-edition rosé strawberries by Dole at the grocery store and had to give them a try! I was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful they were, definitely worth the hype. Each weekend, I have a glass of rose and dive into my reading list. It’s become something I look forward to most Friday nights.
Reading has been a big part of my routine this summer. Kyle and I have been reading before bed, reading in the morning with coffee, reading on vacation, and even randomly throughout the day while the dogs wrestle in the backyard. I used to have a guilty feeling when it came to reading. I had to make sure the house was spotless, the blogs were kept up with, and everything around me had to be done before I opened a book. I’ve locked that mindset out and have put reading as a priority.
I am excited to announce that I will be starting a mini book club here on the blog. For those that are interested, I will be sharing two or three books at the beginning of each month. It’ll be fun to connect and exchange conversations about the featured books. I’ve considered a monthly zoom chat to hang out and go over books just as if it were a real-life book club. The details will be coming September 1st when I announce the chosen books! If you are looking for some good books to read, this month, I finished the following:
Where the Crawdads Sing
The Great Alone
The Invention of Wings
The Dilemma
To celebrate the new website as well as the launch of the book club coming in September, I wanted to do a fun little giveaway! I will be sending two winners a September book pick of their choice (coming soon) as well as my favorite relaxation tea and calming candles! All you have to do is leave a comment below telling me what book you have on your reading list!💕
Questions for you!
- What book are you currently reading?
- Are you apart of any book clubs?
Stacey & Kaitlyn are the winners!! Find your comment and please email me to redeem!!

Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, Peggy!
I just finished both as well and AMAZING books! I wish I could read them for the first time again.
♥️ thank you so much
Peggy says
Quick correction….this book IS NOT a comedy….I have just spent the last 15 minutes balling my eyes out!
Leah O'Malley says
I just finished Nine Elms, and I’m hoping to read The Dutch House next!
Joey says
Hey! I have been following you from the very beginning (like green prom dress if I remember correctly) but this is my first time commenting! I was always just a little behind on your posts and for the first time I am finally caught up with them all. It feels so good!!
I started a book club with some of my closest friends and this months pick is “Verity”. It was so good and probably one of my favorite books this year. It is very dark in some parts but it’s definitely a page turner. I finished it in one day! We read “Where the Crawdads Sing” last year and “The Great Alone” earlier this year. I loved them both!
Emily says
I love the new website; you always do such a fantastic job keeping everything new, fresh, and clean (I’ve been a fan since undressed skeleton)!
I have tons and tons on my reading list, but two books I’ll be reading soon are: A Very Large Expanse of Sea by Tahereh Mafi and Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo.
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you so much for that feedback!
Debra says
I am currently reading Where the Crawdads Sing and I love it. I’m undecided on what I will read next. A book club sounds like fun. 🙂

Untamed by Glennon Dyole! It’s a life changer! Congrats on the new website!
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you, Carrie!
I’ll look into that.
Dorothy says
I’m late to the party and just started the Crazy Rich Asians trilogy! It’s surprisingly refreshing. The plot is predictable/normal, but the writing is amazing! I’ve considered pairing it with the Great Gatsby for my juniors.
Taralynn McNitt says
Had no idea it was a trilogy!
Esther Rowan says
I have been anticipating your new website look and am now anticipating your monthly book club! Sometimes I am more proficient in adding books to my list than actually reading them. 🙂 2 books that I am excited to read are: How to Do the Work by Dr. Nicole LePera (available in March 2021) and Before You Suffocate Your Own Fool Self by Danielle Evans.
Taralynn McNitt says
Awww thank you so much, Esther!
I’ll look into those books!
Jenny says

I am reading “The Nightingale” by Kristin Hannah, and it’s so good so far! I’m also re-reading “A Dog Walks Into a Nursing Home” by Sue Halpern. I am a sucker for books about dogs, and it’s one of my favorites!
Taralynn McNitt says
I have a hard time reading books about dogs happy/or sad lol I am so emotional!
I heard Nightingale is a good one.
Stephanie says
Almost done with Where The Crawdads Sing!! Was going to start Behind Her Eyes next!
Taralynn McNitt says
Awww I hope you’re loving that book so far!
Andrea says
Hi! Love the new blog look and I’m so excited for this book club!
I made it my goal this year to really dive into my book list. When COVID hit and the libraries closed, I wasn’t sure it would be possible, but then was recommended to download two apps – Hoopla and Libby. Nothing beats reading a physical book, but you should totally check those apps out if you’re in need of a book and can’t get your hands on it physically.
Anyway – currently reading: The Queen of Hearts by Kimmery Martin. Next up: Where the Crawdads Sing.
I just joined a book club last month and really enjoyed getting to talk with others about our shared reading experiences!
Hope you have a great rest of your summer!!
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, Andrea!
Thanks so much, 😊 I’m excited for it too!
Love that goal and thanks for sharing those apps!
You are going to LOVE Where the Crawdads sing!!
Caitlin Reyes says
I just finished Where the Crawdads Sing and am having major character grief and withdrawals! It was my first time reading fiction since high school and I need a good follow-up recommendation. For now, I started A Severe Mercy which is a compilation of love letters from C.S. Lewis by his dear friend.
Taralynn McNitt says
I had the same thing happen to me after reading that book! I just wanted those characters back!
You should read The Great Alone next. It’s a good book to match up to Crawdads!
Samantha says
I read Educated this summer, highly recommend!! Couldn’t put it down.
Taralynn McNitt says
Awesome!
Kali says
Your blog looks beautiful! I’m excited for a book club, I’ve wanted to join one for a while! I just finished reading The Nightengale, which is also by Kristen Hannah- it hit me hard with a book hangover. I just picked up the Great Gatsby to start next, but might put it on hold while waiting for your book list 😊
Carly says
I love the new look for the blog! So pretty!
I used to have the same mindset about reading… everything else had to be done before I would read. But since having a baby and being on maternity leave all summer I’ve realized that reading is my “me” time and good for my mental health.
I just picked up “the guest list” from Lucy Foley that I can’t wait to start!
I have never been a part of a book club but an online one sounds perfect! Can’t wait to see what books you choose!
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, Carly!
Thank you so much 😊
I love that you’re spending your time reading and mentally relaxing as well! ♥️ Bet you’re so excited about the baby!!
I have The Guest List on my shelf waiting for me to read! I heard it’s so good.
♥️
Elizabeth McConnell says
Hi! I absolutely loved The Great Alone! Felt like I couldn’t put it down. Right now my reading has drastically shifted as I am currently 34 weeks pregnant with our first little one (a boy!). My next book on my list is “Moms on Call” to learn about sleep training. Not as fun as my normal fiction but learning alot!! Online book club sounds perfect for this soon to be new mama!
Cathie says
I just finished reading “What You Wish For” by Katherine Center. I couldn’t put it down – she’s one of my favorite authors and anything by her is good. My favorite is “Things You Save in a Fire.”
New website looks beautiful btw! : )
Taralynn McNitt says
Thanks so much, Cathie!
I heard that is really good!
Ariel LaVenture says
Hi Taralynn!
I am currently reading The Witch Elm by Tana French…I really like her writing. My mum and I have our own little book club with just the two of us! We pick one book each month and then have a little dinner or lunch to talk about it/plan for the next book!
Cheers on the new website- it looks great! ☺️
Taralynn McNitt says
I think that is the cutest idea to do with your mom ♥️
Jen D says

Okay first I am OBSESSED with the new look of the website has! It’s beautiful!
I’m currently reading The Dilemma. I’m honestly not as hooked on it as the previous books which surprises me. 🤔
I am not but I am so excited to be a part of one!! 😄 my goal was to read 1 book/month for the whole year and so far I’m keeping up with it! That’s huge for me because I hardly read anymore since going to college 10 years ago 🙈
Jaqui says
I loooooved The Great Alone! Such a great read. Next on my list is actually a RE-read – at the end of every summer (since 8th grade, I’m 31!) I’ve read To Kill A Mockingbird, and I swear I get something different out of it every time 🙂
Samantha Kueny says
I want to read Untamed by Glennon Doyle! Everyone seems to be RAVING about it, AND it won’t look bad on my bookcase when I’m finished either – the cover is so cute! 🙂
Rachael says
Hi! Site looks great. We have similar taste in books! I’m currently finishing Capital, a novel about a group of Londoners during the 2008 financial crisis. Excited to hear more about your book club; my in-person one has faded away during COVID :/
Haley says
I can’t wait to read “When no one is watching”. It’s supposed to be a mix of the movie “Rear Window” and “Disturbia”.
Currently I am reading “The Huntress” by Kate Quinn and the only “official” book club I’m in is Book of the Month!

I love the new site! I have never been in a book club but my mom always was, and I always thought it looked fun! I felt the exact same way when reading, I would feel guilty like I have to clean the house or workout first! It’s so nice to hear you talking about making it a priority and not feeling bad! This is embarrassing but I a, currently reread omg the hunger games! I started during quarantine and I just really love the series! I would like to read Where the Crawdads Sing like you mentioned, it looks good!
Kaitlyn Berrett says
Currently reading Shari LaPena’s new book, The End of Her! Ever since you recommended her a few years ago, along with B.A Paris, I’m OBSESSED! 🙂

Hayley says
The blog looks so good! I’ve been looking forward today to get back to reading your blog – glad you enjoyed your break!!
I’ve recently gotten back into reading too – I just finished grad school in May and always felt guilty reading fun books when I should have been reading textbooks. In the past few weeks I also finished Where the Crawdads Sing and Turn of the Key (ready for the spooky fall mindset). Love that you’re doing a book club, can’t wait to join!!
Madison says
Hi Taralynn!
I am currently reading The Silent Patient. So good!! Next on my list is Where the Crawdads Sing! And I am not in a book club, but want to be in one one day!
Rena says
Love the new look!
Lately I have been addicted to inspector gamache series by Louise Penney. And I am not currently part of book clubs but I would love to be.
Cayse Wilson says
I have Where the Crawdads Sing, The Perfect Wife and Surprise me on my list. I have never been a part of a book club but I think it would be fun! Love the new blog look 🙂
Emily says
I LOVE the new look! Where the Crawdads sing is on my list of books I want to read, in addition to Truths I Never Told you by Kelly Rimmer and Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah. Kristin Hannah is probably my favorite author right now. I read the Great Alone last year and I sobbed not ONCE, but TWICE during the book….I have never gotten emotional from a book before! My work used to have a bookclub where we would meet for lunch once a month in the conference room and have lunch catered in. It was really fun! Sometimes I struggle with reading because I either don’t read or read obsessively….so I need to find that middle ground! haha
Liz says
So excited for your book club! My to be read list is always growing. Two books on there right now are Pretty Girls by Karen Slaughter and Magic Hour by Kristin Hannah. In August I read Where The Crawdads Sing too and absolutely loved it!! I’m part of two virtual book clubs on Facebook – Spivey 📚 Club and Bad on Paper Podcast.
Milena says
Hi Taralynn!
I love this new look of your website 😍❤️
When it comes to reading, I finished two books this month. “The History of Bees” by Maja Lunde and “Untouchable” by Marek Stelar. This second one is Polish author so it may not be available in US but he writes really good crime stories!
It’s great to have you back here! And I can’t wait to see your book club grow😍
Big hugs from Poland because I came to visit my parents for 2 weeks! ☺️
Jenn says
I have a reading goal to read 52 books this year and *so far* I’m on track. I just finished I Know This Much Is True by Wally Lamb. I saw The Invention of Wings on your list and I read that earlier this spring. Loved it so much!
Ashley K says
I’m currently reading “Rules of Civility” that a friend loaned to me! We like to swap books that we think the other would enjoy 🙂
I always have the best intentions of joining book clubs, but I am not consistent enough to join one. I’ll read 4 books in one month and then not read another for 3 months. To each their own 🙂
Heather Jelinek says
I’ve actually been wanting to read the new ‘Twilight’ book “Midnight Sun”! I want to re-live my teenhood! Haha. I just bought it! So I can’t wait to dive in! (I’m a huge book nerd anyways, so I really have like, 10 I want to read right now! And P.S …. love the new style of your blog! 🙂

Stacie Byrd says
I loved the Great Alone. Kristen Hannah’s books are all good. I loved The Nightingale. I have been reading a historical book by David McCullough called “The Pioneers.” It’s very interesting. I am hoping to borrow the two newest John Grisham novels from family members soon. I try to read when I can. It’s mostly before bed each night or in the tub. I spend the day keeping up with a very active one-year-old. 😆

Hannah says
I am currently reading One Good Deed by David Baldacci (I love him!) and finished a book not too long ago called Her Final Words by Breanna Labuskes. I highly recommend the second! It was murder, intrigue, suspense, and challenging right and wrong. It was a good one!
I think next on my list will be another by Breanna Labuskes since I liked Her Final Words!
Melanie Lehmkuhl says
I used to be part of a book club in college and it was a blast! I really want to read the newest books in the Rachel Caine Stillhouse Lake series!
Jenn says
Currently reading The Woman in the Window. I love thrillers.
I’m actually in two book clubs. One is a local moms group and the other is thru a local cafe. I’m the youngest member by about 30yrs, ha.

I am currently reading Reconstructing Amelia. It’s good so far. I also read Where the Crawdads Sing and loved it. My coworkers and I tend to rotate books, I guess that could be considered a book club. I think it’s a great idea for you to have a mini book club! I would definitely be interested!
Jenn says
Reconstructing Amelia was really good!
Bri says
A book club sounds so fun!!
Nichole W says
I’m part of our work book club, but my “New Years” resolution was to read at least 1 self improvement book and 1 fun book a month. So I’m currently reading Limitless by Jim Kwik and it’s fantastic. My fun book was the Silent Patient.

I have SO many books on my reading list. My GoodReads is swamped with “To Read” items. But, I recently read “Sushi for Beginners” by Marian Keyes – an Irish author who is sassy and saucy. A very fun read. Currently reading “Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less” which is a great read so far, and “Daring Greatly” by Brene Brown. I love her!
Melissa says
I’m actually reading Where the Crawdads Sing! It’s really good. I have been doing Book of the Month Club which has been really fun and has helped me get back into reading. The Vanishing Half and Little Fires Everywhere were both on there and I recommend!
Kaitlyn Leger says
Hi! The new look is great so far…I can’t wait to see the other additions!
Reading is sometimes tough to do with my 20 month old, but I like to try to read a few chapters of whatever I can before bed. I’ve been a part of Emma Watson’s book club “Our Shared Shelf” through good reads. My friends and I attempted to start a book club about 12 years ago among ourselves, but that quickly turned into homework nights at Panera Bread instead haha.
I’m hoping to be a part of this new club, and zoom meetings sound like a great idea! I’m a teacher, and the impending school year (next week) is making me nervous. We have to be back in person every day and the students will be on a rotating hybrid schedule. This will be a great distraction for me as well as something new and refreshing to read
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, Kaitlyn!
You won the giveaway! 😊 Please email me taralynnmcnitt@gmail.com to redeem!
Alexa says
What a fun idea! The new blog design looks great, too. 🙂 I have ‘My Sister, The Serial Killer’ by Oyinkan Braithwaite on my bookshelf and also want to read ‘In The Flo’ by Alisa Vitti. Her first book ‘Woman Code’ is seriously life-changing!!
Shannon says
Right now I’m between books, I’m waiting for one I really want to read to come into my library for curbside pick up! It should be in tomorrow 🙂
I’m a part of a online bookclub that meets on Discord. It might be a good option for you if this one gets bigger. Can’t wait to see what you picked for the 2 books. Are they going to be ones your reading along with us or ones you’ve already read? Can you sometimes pick not so new releases so it’s easier to get sometimes. I use the library for books and with them being closed except curbside pickup holds are longer than usual now ( because there are no fines till they open up for in person. So people are keeping the books a really long time on the new releases. 🙁 kinda a bummer)
Amanda| The Kitcheneer says
The website is BEAUTIFUL!
Congrats!
I have actually read 3/4 books you listed above!
Currently reading A Shadow’s Touch (fantasy) and also finished Atomic Habits (a MUST!)
And currently no book clubs but would SO be interested in joining yours!

Firstly- love the new blog look!
Secondly- so glad you’re on the rosé wagon, its such a huge hit down in Australia in the summer and they are such a great alternative to white wine on a hot day.
Thirdly – I seem to always read two books at once; a fun book and development book. My current fun book is ‘eleanor oliphant is completely fine’ by Gail Honeyman, and my development book is ‘Better than before’ by Gretchen Rubin (about creating habits).
Thanks again Taralynn 🙂

Wow! Everyone here has so many great book recommendations! A lot of them are on my list already 🙂
I just got back into reading not too long ago and it’s been my saving grace; diving into the world and wonder of books.
I have been reading the Harry Potter series. I’m on book 2 (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets) now and my goal has been to read them all the way through!
I’ve NEVER read or seen any of the Harry Potter books or movies and it’s been so amazing to finally experience all the magic and understand the hype lol 😉
Hanna says
The website it beautiful! Good for you to take some time to refresh + recharge, much deserved.

Hi Taralynn,
Congrats on the new website, it’s so pretty ! I love the colors you chose 🙂 Can’t wait to see what’s next !
The book club is a really good idea. I’m not a part of a book club yet, but I love to debate about a good reading with my sister/friends.
I finished “The Secret History” by Donna Tartt a few weeks ago. It’s crazy how this reading can make you uncomfortable and intrigued at the same time ! I was still thinking about the conclusion days after xD
I also read “The Whisperer” book series by Donato Carrisi. It’s a bit dark and tough, but if you like psychological thrillers, I highly recommand it. The first one in particular got me hooked !
In my “to be read” pile, I also have the first two books of Tana French (“In the Woods” and “The Likeness”) and “Mémé dans les orties” (“Out of Sorts” for the english version) by Aurélie Valognes, which sounds like a super nice story. Oh and I’m also dying to start Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman !
I can’t wait to discover your september book pick and all about your new home decor 😀
Have a good evening <3
Marie says
Hi Taralynn!
Wow, the blog looks gorgeous. I can’t wait to see what other things you have planned. I’m currently reading The Hobbit and I am also thinking about picking up another Michael Crichton novel for fun. Many of the books I read are syfy/fantasy and I would like to expand genres. I’m not apart of any book clubs but I love the idea!
Lauren Burgan says
I am currently reading All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover. She is my favorite author! I plan on reading Verity, also by her, next. I hear it’s got a spooky element to it and I figured that’d be great to get me in fall/Halloween spirit.

Hi Taralynn, I am currently reading The Pearl That Broke Its Shell by Nadia Hashimi and have Untamed and In Five Years on hold at my library. I’m not in a book club but I have a few girlfriends that we just pass books back and forth.
Thanks for always being so uplifting, genuine, and creative =) You have been so fun to follow all of these years and I’m living vicariously through this house and garden journey of yours!
Jessica says
Woohoo! I’m so freakin’ excited for your book club! You have to join goodreads if you haven’t already. I keep up with Reese Witherspoon’s bookclub there! My goal this year is to read 30 books before I turn 30 in December 🎉Just finished the dilemma! So good!
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, Jessica!
I LOVE that goal. A great one during this pandemic, too!
The Dilemma was good and if you liked that, B.A. Paris’s other books are even better!
Ashley says
I love the idea of a book club! I just read where the crawdads sing after I saw you were reading it and I loved it. I always love reading elin hilderbrand books in the summer, they are perfect beach books! Next up I have some Mary Kay Andrews

Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you, Victoria!
That’s an amazing goal for Fall and the perfect time for reading.
Victoria Lemieux says
Yes I agree! We are hearing it is going to be a cold wet fall and early winter here, in Maine, so I’ll be getting my book list ready!!!

I loved both Where the Crawdads Sing and The Great Alone! I’m currently reading Big Summer by Jennifer Weiner and have The Guest List and 28 Summers on my to-read list before Fall comes!

I’ll have to look into that one!
Chantelle says
The new website design is gorgeous. You picked such an elegant and feminine style. Love it! If I remember I will try and join the book club as well. I’m a fiend for thrillers and fantasy, which isn’t always up people’s alley. Ha! But I’ve been taking a break from that recently and reading mind/life hacking books. I finished Atom Habits a couple weeks ago, and I’m now going through Limitless by Jim Kwik.
Alexa says
Love the new website! Two books I have on my list are, The Wife Between Us, and The Guest List. Excited for the book club! 🙂

I LOVED Where The Crawdads Sing. I’m currently catching up on a podcast, so reading their book too.
I’ve always loved reading, but put it on the back burner with the craziness of life. I’ve lately made it a point to read before bed, and I’ve been loving it! I work in healthcare, which is definitely stressful right now. Intentionally taking the time for myself to read (and drink a glass of wine or tea) has been phenomenal for my mental health.
A couple of friends and I have a reading challenge going on, but not a part of a book club. Working to get something set up though! 🙂
Marcella Reyes says
Love the new website!! Currently I’m reading Padma Lakshmi’s book (I binged her show on Hulu and of course wanted to read her memoir). I’m not a part of a book club but I do love the Bad on Paper podcast! They’ve really gotten me back into reading and have a book pick every month so that gives me more ideas for books to read. I also got a Kindle recently and it’s been a game changer for me since I can just reserve books on my Libby app from the library and send them to my Kindle. I’m excited to see the Where the Crawdads Sing movie!
carol says
The Grown Ups, I heard it was great

I usually read 2-3 books a month and always have at least 10 downloaded on my kindle at all times. I have a kindle unlimited membership and have really enjoyed it !
I love anything by Kristin Hannah … and also love reading books set in the south , England and Italy. Oh and cape cod / New England ! My perfect day would be a cozy fire , a candle and a stack ( or kindle full) of good books ! Fall candles eeekkkk!
Patricia L says
I just finished The Program and started the second book in the series. I’m trying to read both that and Midnight Sun that was just released at the same time. Rose Ann says
Hi Taralynn! I am currently reading Regretting You by Colleen Hoover. I also read It Ends With Us by her and I am quickly becoming a big fan of her. I also found KA Tucker books this summer. I don’t belong to a book club but I work with 3 other ladies who love to read so we are constantly sharing our books, especially when we find ones we love!
Looking forward to hearing your next picks. Where the Crawdads Sing was an excellent book! Looking forward to them making it into a movie! I’ve been following you for years, keep up the good work!

Cassandra Carillo says
AHHH I love the new look! I’m currently reading The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A F*ck. It’s honestly really good but for some reason I’ve been having a hard time reading it. I have such a long list of books I want to read so I think I need to just come back to this one at a later time haha. I find that when I want to read something I struggle with, it’s usually at a better time in life. I’m not part of any book clubs but I have thought about it before. I connect with a few people on IG and FB about common books we are reading though so maybe that counts a little bit haha.
Roseann says

Are you a part of any book clubs? I was but life got in the way (3 babies born, 3 moves, and 2 job changes among the group)! Would love to get involved in another. Virtual is probably best right now given COVID and my first baby on the way! I’m excited to see what you have planned 🙂
June Wilkinson says

I am currently reading Body Into Balance by Maria Noel Groves & I’m also in the middle of Own Your Everyday by Jordan Lee Dooley. They are both amazing books so far. One fictional book that is on my reading list would have to be The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. Also, I have never been apart of a book club, but I’ve always thought that it sounded like so much fun!
Amanda says

I am currently not reading anything in regards to fiction, but past favorites have been from authors Wally Lamb, Elizabeth Strout, and Chang Rae-Lee. Wally Lamb’s “She’s Come Undone” is probably one of my favorite novels.
I have not been a part of a book club before (unless you consider Brit Lit 2301 a book club haha), but am super excited about the possibility of joining yours! I think it would be the perfect thing to help me out of this quarantine rut.
Look forward to hearing more about this!

But I absolutely loved The Great Alone.

I’m currently reading The Wife Between Us. I just finished reading The Last House Guest, it was so good! I love to read but haven’t had as much time to read since I’m a new mom. I miss it though!

I’m currently reading Where the Crawdads Sing too!! I absolutely love it! But I totally understand the guilt of reading; I feel like it’s indulgent if I read instead of making sure the dishes are done. But I’m getting better at reminding myself it’s okay to read and get lost in a book – the dishes can wait an hour or two.
Nathaly Bernard says
One of the books currently on my reading list is the morning miracle. Everyone has told me this is a go to life changer and I’ve finally got the book in my hand to get down into it. I’m excited to see what I learn and gather.
One of the books I recently finished that became a favorite is Attached: The new science of adult attachment. The book is a nonfiction and dives into the concept of Love and Adult attachment in our relationships. This book is a MUST! It really makes you think, not only about intimate relationships, but how you as a person act in a relationship and where certain traits and insecurities may come from. Highly recommend!
Casey says

If you like Kristin Hannah, I highly recommend The Nightingale and Firefly Lane!
Maureen says
Hi Taralynn!
I love this post (and your recent IG stories) about what you’re reading! When I was little, my dad told me to read regularly, whatever I like, even if it’s a magazine. Quarantine has been a great opportunity to read for fun again, and I’m really glad to see that you’ve been fitting it in throughout your day. When I wait until everything’s done and I have time, I never seem to find it.
Right now I’m reliving the semester I spent in Italy during college and indulging an interest in architecture and design. Currently I’m working my way through Under The Tuscan Sun (Frances Mayes) and Italy Is My Boyfriend (Annette Joseph). Up next is Sacred Cow (Diana Rodgers & Robb Wolf), then The Color of Law (Richard Rothstein).
My two best friends and I have been doing our own book club i and off for the past few years. Our husbands affectionally call it “wine club”. =) Last month we read Untamed by Glennon Doyle (highly recommend).
Enjoy the end of summer!
Linda says
Right now, The Mirror and the Light by Hilary Mantel is on my reading list. I am not part of a book club right now.

“The Blue”, by Lucy Clarke. She has an amazingly captivating style. It’s the fictional story of a group of friends partying on a yacht named The Blue..then one disappears lost at sea. Nothing is what it seems.

I hope you like Lucy Foley’s The Guest List as much as I did. I am currently reading Philip Pullman’s The Amber Spyglass. It was a tentative leap into sci-fi and fantasy fiction genre, but I am surprised how engaging it is! I completed Northern Lights by the same author a couple of weeks ago. Do give it a try.
