Hi, there!
We just returned from a chilly walk. Bugs is napping, I have my coffee, and the fireplace is turned on. It’s the perfect opportunity to put my workout and chores on the back burner and sit down to catch you all up on life. These recaps are more of a monthly thing these days, but at least we’re doing them! I’ve been having so much fun cooking new things, baking sourdough bread, hitting fitness goals, organizing, and spending all the time I can with my son. In a month and a half, he’ll be one. This year has flown by quickly; every minute with him is important to me. Time truly is a thief.
The first year as a mom is so tough, but it’s extremely rewarding. Not only are you taking care of a little human, but you must also take care of yourself. Even though I love my blog, it hasn’t been my top priority, and I’ve learned to hop on here intuitively. Mental health is important to me, especially now that I have someone else to look out for. So if I have time to hang out with my family or do something for myself while he naps, I usually do that instead. The blogs will be more frequent here soon since I have many recipes, adventures, garden blogs, and fitness progress to write about. I appreciate everyone who has stuck around to read, even if it’s not as frequent.
The good thing is that these recaps will be a lot longer since I’m catching you up on multiple weeks! I can’t promise they’ll be in order, but I’ll try my best! Let’s get into it. During the colder February mornings, I had a lot of blueberry pie protein oatmeal.
It had oats, vanilla plant-based protein powder, cinnamon, water, almond milk, blueberries, banana, and peanut butter. It was the best mid-morning breakfast after spending time on the Peloton. (add me on Peleton! @hellotaralynn)
While my dad was over helping Kyle with the garden beds, I made a giant turkey meatloaf, roasted potatoes, and a tossed salad for the family.
Pizza is one of my favorite foods. We’ve been making a healthier supreme pizza with oat and flax lavash bread. The pizza has sauce, mozzarella, sausage, ham, pepperoni, red onion, and bell peppers, and baked in the oven at 400 degrees for about ten minutes. I could eat this every single night! I always have mine with a side salad. I always look forward to having this for dinner, and it’s all I can think about when I’m on the Peloton in the evening. If I miss my morning workout or can’t fit a ride in during naps, I hop on around 5 pm when Kyle gets home.
I’ve been trying to make more inflammatory relief juices. I make a big batch on Monday and drink it all week long. Since strengthening my leg muscles, I’ve had less inflammation and pain around my knees.
This juice has ginger, apple cider vinegar, celery, cucumber, pineapple, lemon, apple, turmeric, carrots, cayenne, and oranges. It’s really good!
Every day we get closer and closer to garden season. I am eager to start planting, but I’m waiting until the end of March. I do have all of my seedlings ready to be transplanted.
I plan to put some spring bulbs into the ground this weekend. I want to add more dahlias around the backyard. I had to transplant my peonies this year, and I hope they do better in their new full sun spots. If you read my garden blog, you know what I’m talking about!
One of my favorite breakfast combos has been this lazy plate of over-medium eggs, avocado, everything but the bagel seasoning, and maple syrup! I sometimes add a slice of toasted sourdough bread. Maple syrup makes everything taste better.
I love throwing together random salads when trying to avoid a grocery trip. It will be so nice to go outside and pick lettuce from the garden when the produce in the refrigerator is low. This salad had turkey, tomatoes, avocado, provolone, pepperoni, romaine, and balsamic glaze on top.
My seedlings needed to be thinned, and I’m already so proud of these little babies from seeds. It’s so easy to purchase plants at the nursery, but it’s even more rewarding to do them yourself by seed.
I made some bread for my parents, cinnamon raisin, jalapeno cheddar, and plain! I do plan to share my recipe this week.
My little easter bunny. I had to keep him in the basket because he kept crawling away. He is always on the move! Starbucks and Target? Yes, please!
He also loves a Trader Joe’s trip, but who doesn’t? He is obsessed with the puffed peanut snacks. I always let him have a few for his afternoon snack. Trader Joe’s has amazing produce options for his meals. He loves anything right now! I’m sure that will change soon.
We had our dirt delivered! I have the sweetest husband and must give him all the credit on this one. I showed him what I wanted, and he built everything in two weeks. It was my birthday gift, and he totally knocked it out of the park on this one. We need to get the trellis arbors up!
I met up with a friend in Waxhaw for coffee and lunch. We started at Virtuoso for a sweet treat and a chai oat latte. I had the oatmeal cookie with my latte, which was so delicious.
We walked over to Emmet’s Social Table for lunch. The weather was stunning, and we asked if we could sit outside.
I had fish tacos, kale salad, and we split shoestring fries and brussels sprouts. The food was amazing! We also have a location here in Fort Mill.
We walked around the town, and then I returned home after a grocery trip.
I love my Saturday mornings because I try to do a long one-hour ride on the Peloton and make a delicious breakfast after my shower. Kyle watches Bugs, so it gives me time to do things for myself for a few hours.
This pot was screaming my name when I saw it at Homegoods. I wish they had another one, but I’m looking for a matching one! My sweet boy loves watching the sunrise!
I’ve been eating much healthier because I try to make everything my son can eat. He LOVES broccoli, salmon, and potatoes! I mash his foods up and make them without the seasoning.
This is what most of my Saturday mornings look like! I’ve been sticking to my workouts for the past twelve weeks and have lost ten pounds so far. I gained a lot during my pregnancy, and I felt terrible about myself postpartum because my body wasn’t “bouncing back,” so I’ve been working my butt off this past year, and I am feeling SO SO SO much better! I’m feeling stronger than before having a baby, and I’m so grateful to Peloton for giving me a new healthy lifestyle. Being healthy mentally and physically makes me a better mom.
I saw these frozen yogurt bites on Tiktok and had to try them! Bugs is obsessed! I only give him a few at a time, so they don’t melt. It gets messy, but it’s so worth it!
Pizza night and cuddles with Tux. It’s crazy that he’s now lying on our couch. His progress is rewarding, and I can’t wait to see what he does next! While Kyle was out of town a few weekends ago, I took him on his morning walks, and he did well with me!
Sunrises! Gosh, I can’t wait until these boxes are filled with produce! I’m constantly daydreaming!
Hiking with Leo and Bugs! We have managed to fit in our 3-mile walk each day. Kyle and I have also been walking after bathtime and before bedtime, which I think helps him wind down before bed.
Yummy turkey sandwiches for lunch with my sourdough bread! Kyle and I love splitting a sandwich and salad for weekend lunch. The sandwich has avocado, mayo, American cheese, bacon, turkey, bell pepper, tomatoes, lettuce, onion, cucumber, and black pepper.
I sent him down to his trip with a tray of copycat Crumbl cookies! The Fresh Cooky recipe is to die for!
Walk with Tux! He’s afraid of the stroller, so I have to wear Bugs when we go.
All of the tulips are up in my yard! Bugs love them. He tries to rip the tops off of them! Just checking out the dirt! I bought him a garden toy set from Amazon for him to play with this summer. We had to go check out the peach trees together while on a date with Grandma! It’s crazy that everything is green and in bloom. Some of our trees have all of their leaves on them already.
Lucky to be his mama!
He LOVES watching the ducks! We stopped for dinner at Ilios in Baxter village. Bugs had his yogurt, rice, and some chicken. He does well sitting in the highchair with his food.
My mom stayed with us while Kyle was out of town, and we headed out on morning walks and evening walks!
The weather was perfect, so we decided to head to Waxhaw for the morning. Before exploring the shops, we had matcha lattes and a fruit tart at Virtuoso Coffee shop.
Little fingers always reaching!
And he’s always happy while swinging! We have one for him in the backyard now.
When we got home, I made a delicious vegetable and sausage quiche with a sourdough crust. Let me know if you want this recipe! It was so easy to make and even better as leftovers.
After bathtime, we headed out on a night walk. He’s cruising along the furniture, so it’s time to babyproof everything! Morning walk with Tux! One of his favorite breakfasts is banana and egg pancakes. I cut them into tiny pieces for him to feed himself, and he loves them!
I spent all day Sunday cleaning the house! It felt good to get everything back in its place.
My little Mozart! He’s OBSESSED with the piano and has been since he was little. I hope he has an interest in playing one day.
Sourdough Saturday!
When it’s 85 degrees, we have a pool day!
Kombucha for me! I need to jump on the homemade kombucha train since I have it every day. I love it.
I had a salad for dinner, and he had cottage cheese, avocado, and rotisserie chicken. Breakfast before a trail walk! I love my sourdough bread toasted with butter, avocado, cottage cheese, egg, and everything but the bagel seasoning on top.
We did coffee at Grapevine and a five-mile walk on the Riverwalk trail.
More seedlings! I love reusing egg cartons for my seeds.
My blueberry and raspberry bushes are starting to bud. I’m so happy about fresh blueberries this year. I’m nervous about planting these in the ground, but let me know if you have any experience with planting berries.
On Saturday, Kyle and I treated ourselves to Inizio pizza and salad. It’s one of my favorites.
While we were walking the neighborhood, one of our neighbors had the CUTEST set up to wish their pup a happy birthday. It had balloons and doggy party favors for all the dogs in the neighborhood. I need to do this too! It’s so cute, and I love when people love their dogs this much. Only a few more weeks of these tulips! After they all die, I’ll replace them with zinnias around the tree. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by to read!
Questions for you!
- Do you have any Spring flowers coming up?
- Have you ever tried Crumbl cookies?
- What is your favorite way to move your body?
Hannah says
Not sure if we’ll get spring flowers this year. In Minnesota we still have a feet of snow on the ground and more coming this week.
I’ve tried crumbl cookies there was a mint one that was amazing.
I love the peloton app especially the outdoor runs and strength classes.
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, Hannah!
I hope you get some warmer temps and less snow soon!
I’ve wanted to try the mint brownie crumbl! I may treat myself to one this week 🙂
I need to get better at doing the strength classes!
Cayleigh says
I’m in Minnesota as well and crying at the thought of more snow. ⛄️ ❄️ 😭
Franny says
I wish I had a green thumb like you! House plants seem to be so much easier for me than the outdoor plants. When you’re having coffee at home, what do you use to flavor it?
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, Franny!
House plants are also rewarding! Plus, they give the home better air-quality, so keep it up!
I use organic half and half – full dairy. I also like the Chobani half and half 🙂
Milena says
Hello Taralynn!
Your garden looks amazing! Can´t wait to see if when the Spring hits.
Bugs is growing so fast, he is so cute 🙂 It´s so nice that you can spend so much time with him, enjoy every minute! Btw you look absolutely fantastic and so does your Mom, she looks so young!
Lately it costs me a little bit more to find motivation anf do sports but from next week I am planning to go back with cardio and zumba. I like to look for sume videos on Youtube with music from 90ties and just move by body to the songs I grew up with 🙂 Maybe when we move in to our new flat I will buy myself Peloton as well.
I am super excited for this new chapter, we are moving to a smaller town outside Barcelona 🙂
Big hugs for you and your beautiful family 🙂
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, Milena!!
Thanks, girl! I’m so ready to jump into all things spring and gardening.
You really are so sweet, and that just made my day. I’ll make sure my mom sees this comment! I love how much she takes care of herself, and it inspires me!
You’ll love the Peloton, especially if you like throwback playlists.
I can’t wait to see photos of your new place! xo xo
Kalyn says
Can I please get the quiche recipe?! Thank you!! Can’t wait to make it with my sourdough starter
Taralynn McNitt says
Definitely will share!!
Krista says
I am starting a veggie garden this year too and have probably far too many seedlings already (I didn’t believe they’d all sprout), so I’m excited to harden off my plants so that I can plant them outside and have enough veggies to share with neighbors. everything else flower-wise is really coming out now, especially my camellia bushes, so I’m excited for my fruit trees and raspberry, wine berry, and black berry bushes to get moving! they’re on their second year (wine berry and black berry were volunteer plants), so supposedly they could fruit this year? not sure, but I’m excited.
my favorite way to move my body is running, but I currently have poison ivy everywhere as I was weeding in shorts last week, forgot my gloves inside, and apparently the roots I was pulling were indeed poison ivy… so I’m hopefully getting proper medication today. I ordered the long gloves you linked off Amazon the first day it popped up, so those will come in handy while I wear pants, lol!
Taralynn McNitt says
I love hearing that! The seedlings are so exciting when they pop up. Our camellias are on their last days, and the flowers were so pretty to see through the windows. You must send me a photo of your garden and fruit trees! I love that stuff! Gives me so much inspiration.
OHHH NOOO! I had that years ago, and running made it worse when I sweated! I hope you get some relief soon. It’s the worst!! I used some kind of sandy scrub on the itches that probably caused some scarring but it helped with the itch lol
Jennifer says
Lol no – we still have plenty of regular snow up here 🥴 all I do is dream about spring planting!! typically we have to wait until at least mothers day to plant outside.
yes and I need to try this recipe! I feel their cookies are so overpriced!
currently it’s walking! It’s finally clicking that it’s okay that walking is movement, and a workout doesn’t have to be anything crazy. only took 29 years but here we are lol
Taralynn McNitt says
Oh no!!! Hopefully that snow melts soon.
Their cookies are very overpriced lol, and they hardly ever cook them all the way through. I’ve had to bake their cookies in my oven before. Sometimes, you’ll get a good one!
Walking is the best!!!
KAli says
Love the recap! Salads are my fav and I’ve enjoyed your creations for like 9 years now! I’ve tried Crumbl but can’t handle the sugar. I’ve been refined sugar free for a year now so have to find one for gut health — if it exits! ❤️ love the flower bed and can’t wait to see what grows/blooms/blossoms! I’m also getting a peloton today (yay) bc I’m officially influenced over here! Can’t wait for more recap blogs!
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, KAli!!
I love that. Salads are my favorite too. They are always so filling and my favorite way to fit in healthy produce.
I bet there are many copy cat recipes for a healthier sugar-free crumbl cookie out there! That is why I love the internet lol
AHHHHH congrats on getting the bike!!! Please keep me posted on your journey!!
Julie says
Love this recap! We had the start of spring buds in Columbus but then it snowed yesterday! Poor flowers do not know what hit them !
Farmhouse on Boone is a YouTube page and I just made her sourdough discard pizza — you literally put sourdough starter in a cast iron skillet with oil and italian seasoning, put it in the oven for 10 mins, put toppings on and back in the oven until the cheese melts! SO EASY. We didn’t use sauce, but put fresh tomatoes on and it was delicious! I think you’d like it!
My son is around Bugs’ age and I’m also really enjoying the Peloton during nap times. In February I did the Arms by Tunde program which was GREAT and March my goal is to do 8 bootcamps. I have 5 left!
Taralynn McNitt says
Thanks, Julie!
Ohhhh noooo! They are resistant, so hopefully, they’ll be back!
I follow her too! I have been trying to convince Kyle that we need a brick oven to make sourdough and sourdough pizza in it. Now you have me hungry for pizza!!!
Okkk I’ll check that out! If anyone should be teaching a class about arms its Tunde!
Leslie says
How do you wake up at 5 am? I want to start getting up earlier to have that time to myself.
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, Leslie!
My husband and i just make sure to go to bed around 8! That is the only thing that truly helps 🙂 Plus, I’m a morning person!
Peggy says
Loved this blog! What a happy time for your family. I have a piece of wisdom to hand down! We own a piano store in Baton Rouge. If you make piano a part of their curriculum, one that is expected like math or reading, children will be successful in learning, at least until high school. Learning a musical instrument has many benefits for growing brains! Love seeing the pictures of Bugs sitting at the piano, hoping I get to see pictures of him at his Senior recital someday!
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you, Peggy!
That is so sweet, and I love that piece of wisdom. I will definitely be incorporating that into his curriculum. He really loves it, and just bangs on the keys for as long as I’ll let him.
Ashton Jury says
Love your recaps but I totally understand living in the moment with Buggs and soaking it all up. I also am loving all your recipes lately, your salads have been looking delicious 🤤 Oh, I was curious since you live kind of near it all were you following the Alex Murdaugh stuff?
Taralynn McNitt says
Haha! We watched the documentary on Netflix, and I stayed updated on a few of the trials, but wow what a crazy man! So happy he’s behind bars!!
Laura says
I love your flowers!
Do you guys have any wildlife in your area? (If you do, how do you keep them away from your plants/flowers?)
We recently planted flowers and woke up to deer eating all of them. That was fun. Lol
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, Laura!
We do, but they stay down in the woods. Since we have a fenced-in hard, they can’t get through to eat our flowers or bushes! I think there are some things you can plant that deer stay away from! Marigolds!
Andrea says
I love your blog, in every stage and phase! 💗 Working intuitively is such an inspiration! I’m doing that as well, and honestly I don’t wanna live any other way 🤣 Ooh and yes please to the sourdough crust recipe! I’m starting my sourdough making journey and want to compile allll the recipes. Thanks girly 💗
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you, Andrea! That is so sweet.
YES!! lol I spent 14 years working on this blog, and it’s ok that I’m taking some time off. I feel lucky that I can.
I will totally post that recipe soon!!! Welcome to the sourdough life!!! haha
Jennifer says
I would love the quiche recipe too! Everything you make looks delicious.
You have motivated me to use our Peloton more, but it makes my knees hurt. Did you have any issues with that?
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, Jennifer!
It’s crazy, I had TERRIBLE knee pain. I was actually in PT for like 4 months starting in October. My ortho said I needed to build strength around my knees to help with the pain. Since doing the Peloton and building my leg muscles, I’ve never felt better. I used to not be able to walk up the stairs or even lay in bed without wanting to cry. Even when I was running I was in so much pain. The Peloton has been the only thing that hasn’t hurt my knees because I’m not putting all my weight on them. I would talk with an ortho to see what is going on with your knees, and maybe take the classes slow!
Nicole says
Love these monthly recaps! You are just the sweetest person, you can tell from your pictures and just the way you write these blog posts!
I had twin boys on New Year’s Day, and it’s been challenging making the time for myself, but you’re such an inspiration! It’ll also help with it beginning to get warmer out and being able to be outside! It’s been mild for the winter, but still too cold to have the little ones outside! We live in Morgantown, WV, so not quite as far south as you guys 🙂
I wanted to ask- what presets do you use for your pictures?! They’re gorgeous and I’d love to start making my pics like this since I have about a million already of the twins since January 🥴
Can’t wait to read the next blog post! 💗
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, Nicole!
That is so kind of you!
Congrats on your boys. I can’t imagine how hard being a twin mom is. We always say, “imagine having twins?” when things get tough. And look at you doing that!
WV is so pretty! We have plans to visit that way in late summer!
I use VSCO C3 A9 for my photos. I usually just add brightness, reduce greens and yellows, brighten shadows, lower highlights, sharpen, and grain! 🙂
Aimee says
Love reading about your weeks and your cute little family! No spring flowers here yet, but I think we are finally out of the snow phase, so hallelujah!
We have Crumbl cookies all over in my state, but my store always makes them raw in the middle, so I am excited to try a copy cat recipe!
Lately, my favorite way to move my body has been walks with my 7 month old puppy and yoga! I love running, but my knees have not been loving it lately.
Taralynn McNitt says
Thanks, Aimee!
Thank the heavens! Snow should not be allowed after March 1st! lol
OMG the raw…why are some of them so raw in the middle? We’ve had to toss out ones that were straight-up cookie dough. That is why I started making the copycat recipe from The Fresh Cooky!
I had to give up running because of the knees too! Walking is amazing for the body.
Kat Leger says
Hi Taralynn,
Glad to see a recap again, but take all the time you need, mama…these babies are only little once. Blogs can come anytime, but these moments are too precious to miss!!
1. Do you have any Spring flowers coming up?
I’m in zone 6 and it is currently snowing outside, so that would be a definite no for me. I’m starting my seedlings for my own raised bed next week after my hand heals (lost a fight with a wine glass and had to get for stitches), but I’m itching to get back in the dirt again!
2. Have you ever tried Crumbl cookies?
Not yet, BUT I heard there is one being built in my area! Such a coincidence since I see them on here frequently.
3. What is your favorite way to move your body?
I love going for 3+ mile walks with my babies. I have a 4 year old and an almost 2 year old. They fall asleep on our walks almost every time so I can do my full 3.3 mile loop and then possibly an extra mile or two in the cemetery right next to our house. I love to listen to an audiobook during the walk for a little bit of “me” time in the midst of it all.
Hope you have a great rest of your week 🙂
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, Kat!
You are so right about that. These are the moments that we can’t get back. Every day he’s like a new little person!
It seems like everyone is getting cold weather and snow right now! It has been cold the past two days here, making me nervous about my flowers leaving dormancy.
The Crumbl cookies are always a hit or miss for me, but I do love watching Crumbl review videos on Monday. I don’t know why it brings me so much joy! But now and then, there will be a cookie I have to try.
Walking is the best! I like to listen to my podcasts, too! I like walking with friends, but there is something about having that “me time” while walking that is special too.
Ashton says
I forgot to say i am loving your tulips! Also that quiche looks absolutely divine!
Taralynn McNitt says
Aw thank you so much, Ashton!
Maddie says
Hi Tara! Good to have you back 🙂 I’m dying for the bread recipe! I have over 1-year of sourdough starter and need the inspiration to use it. Also, jealous of the weather! Here in Poland we still waiting for spring to come (6 days!)
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, Maddie!
Feels good to be back! I would highly recommend trying out that cinnamon roll recipe with your starter!
I bet it’s stunning in Poland in the spring!
Manda says
Great recap and love seeing the flowers and Bugs!! We just got 2 ft of snow up here in Massachusetts, so my Spring plans have taken a back seat!
I try to get to the gym for crossfit 4-5 times a week and mix in yoga when I can!
Personally, I love these longer posts and absolutely agree that mental/physical health must come first!
Taralynn McNitt says
2 feet!? goshhhh that is so much. I hope you’re cuddling up on the couch with some warm tea and a good book!
Crossfit is so tough! way to go!
I love to hear that!
Ashley says
Absolutely loved this recap friend, it made my day! I totally understand about not being able to get to the recaps each week, I am a loyal fan no matter how often you post them! 🙂 It’s definitely more important to take care of yourself and your sweet family!
I hope you’re having a great week so far!
Make Life Marvelous
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you for stopping by to read, Ashley!
You always brighten my day with your sweet comments and positivity!
Nina says
Hi Taralynn!
I really love your garden and I can’t wait to see all the plants blooming!
1- I don’t have flowers (I live in an apartment) but there’s a lot of daffodils in my neighborhood and I love them so much
2- I’ve never tried Crumbl cookies (there’s no store in my country) but there’s a little café in my city who sometimes makes the most perfect cookies I’ve ever tested (somewhere between chewy and crunchy) (they also have an amazing cheesecake and a perfect carrot cake)
3- My first love is running, usually I’m not really motivated before a training but when it’s done I feel sooo good!
I also do pole dance and a year and a half since I started, I’m getting more and more confident in my body and my mind
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, Nina!
Thank you so much. I’m so excited for everything to grow!
Daffodils always bring me joy since they are the start of spring!
I love when little cafes have the most talented bakers, and desserts you can’t stop thinking about! Those cookies sound perfect!
I’m like that with workouts sometimes too! And I find the days that I do not feel motivated, I do the best performance!
Victoria says
I love your recaps! I got rid of social media several years ago but always come back to your blog.. We live in Maine so there is still plenty of snow here, but I can’t wait for all the gardening! All of your gardening looks amazing! … I actually do have some experience with blueberry bushes! I have four myself (different types so that they help to pollinate each other. I have them in full sun with pine mulch.. I find it’s important to give them soil acidifier during the summer months, and make sure to keep the weeds away from their roots) … (when you do plant them in the ground you want to line them up in a smart way…. I did a square and it was difficult to get the berries on the inside of the bushes… so now they are in a single row .. also they get vedy big so make sure to space them accordingly). During your break I went back through alot of your old recaps! I think your husband and I are from the same town in Florida (Venice). my children are almost heading into their single digits but I miss running with them in the stroller. I loved running while they were babies. Again I love your blog!!!! I know your a bookie as well … have you read any Colleen Hoover recently? I cant stop reading her books lately!
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, Victoria!
I love that! 🙂 Maine is so stunning! We plan to do a family trip there in a few summers!
Thank you for the tips on the bushes! I will plant them down by my fence with full sun and plenty of space to grow. I’ll make sure to give them a soil acidifier!
I love Venice so much! It’s been a while since we’ve been down there. He is from New Jersey, but his mom moved down there, and it’s so fun to visit!
I wish I picked up books recently, but I haven’t! All of her books are so good!
Victoria says
I miss Venice! my parents live in Bradenton now and I need to go visit them!
You should definitely check out Bar Harbor/Acadia Maine! (I actually haven’t been myself but I have heard it’s absolutely beautiful!!!)
I’m sure your blue berry bushes will do amazingly!
I find I go through waves of one hobby at a time during the year and cycle through them with the seasons.
Taralynn McNitt says
I love Bradenton! I stayed there for a trip once!
I totally do that as well!
Victoria says
oooo I also have raspberry bushes. you want to plant those along something that they can climb or be almost leaning on. I have ours against a trellis wall on our house. every spring I cut the dead stalks and clean them up. our children love having all the fresh berries. we also have grapes that grow on an arbor. and gogi berry bushes! as well as a few apple trees. 😊 planting just brings so much happiness!
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, Victoria!
I had no idea that they climbed! I think they would do so much better if I planted them. Sounds like you have so many yummy fruit varieties growing during the summer! That is so fun!
Victoria says
I would say they do more of a “lean” than a climb. Ours are pretty big now. They are so easy to transplant and they do fruit on second year wood so don’t get upset if you don’t have anything this year. I do find they like to show up everywhere once they are planted so keep that in mind when you do plant them in the ground. 😁. Your son will love all the berry bushes. I know mine does 😊.
